Let's start with letterheads, business cards etc.

It's all too easy to get buy with unimpressive stationery but by doing so you are missing the chance to instill confidence, impress and show you are a business that means business.

Here are a few examples of business cards and letterheads I've designed for clients recently.

Are you are sure your customers see your products or services as favourably as you see them? Poorly designed material could be letting you down!

Few people understand the nature or scope of the work undertaken by graphic designers. Nor do they appreciate the benefits to be had from developing a good consistent business design, image or style - call it what you will.

Design matters more these days than ever before since everyone's becoming increasingly discerning about where and with whom they shop. A good design instills confidence, demonstrates care and attention and as a result, brings more trade to your door.

It's a fact that 'Design' is now accessible to all businesses, not just the big and powerful. I hope this small selection of work from my portfolio will convince you that I have what it takes to bring good design to your business, big or small!

I also hope you can see something of the potential that good design will bring to your business. The many diverse examples above should serve to show you what's possible, and maybe you can see how one or more of the samples shown could very usefully be applied to an aspect of your business? I hope you can see that the flexibility and diversity of the work I have undertaken means I can take a brief and come up with something original, appealing and above all else - something that really works!

If you still need to know more about the graphic design process, how it originated and where it's heading, then take a look at the Wikipedia entry on Graphic Design it's quite a good starting point but graphic design these days has become diverse as it has broadened to meet the needs of the market place. Projects often call on photography, copy-writing, model-making and a host of other skills that might all be loosely collected under the title of graphic design.

If you are interested to know what tools I use regularly in my design work, they are Adobe PhotoShop CS2, Dreamweaver CS3, Indesign CS, Xara Xtreme Pro 5, OpenOffice, MindGenius Business, and a host of specialist programs I have found to have useful features. Take a look at my links page to find pointers to the best software around (many of them free (open-source) applications).
